How do you quantify how many partners you have? What is a partner? When does a partner become a partner?
In sales, a customer is the recipient of a good, service, product or an idea, obtained from a seller, vendor or supplier via a financial transaction or an exchange for money or some other valuable consideration.
All of a sudden, the answer to 'how many partners do you have?' becomes much smaller.
If 80% of your channel revenue still only come from 20% of your partners, then you have to ask yourself why?
Partners are overwhelmed with vendor emails and partner portals and logins. The expectation on them is high, yet the partner experience in order to get them selling your services and solutions is low.
You may have signed up a new partner, but if they don't start to market and sell your offering within the first few months then are they really a partner, or customer?
